Engine 92 is a 2003 HME Penetrator with a 1250 gallon per minute pump, and a 750 gallon water tank. Engine 92 responds to reported medical calls (when staffing allows), structure fires, hazardous material incidents, and automobile accidents. Engine 92 is the primary response engine for fire calls throughout the District as well as responding for mutual aid to assist neighboring departments. Engine 92 has the capability to seat 6 responders including the Engineer (driver/pump operator) and the Officer on the apparatus. Engine 92 is outfitted with state of the art fire and rescue equipment including thermal imaging cameras to assist in search and rescue, on board mounted vehicle extrication equipment that can be removed and carried to a scene located away from the apparatus, and a computer aided pump panel that can assist the engineer in maintaining hose pressure. Engine 92 is cross staffed by the on duty crews at station 92, and responds to all calls when staffing allows. Engine 92 was moved to Station 92 from it's previous service as Engine 91 our of Station 91, which now houses Quint 91.
